Facebook is Stealing My Life

24 07 2009

My boyfriend set up a facebook for me, and now im addicted which is exactly why i didnt make one in the first place. so, now im hooked, so come be my friend. Im going to use it to share links from all my websites, so friend me!

when you work online, its hard not to get sucked into other stuff.

Im going to invent something where you can block yourself form websites for a particular amount of time, like however long its going to take me to finish the, oh, i dont know, 8 articles I have due by tomorrow.

Things have been awesome- since the last time i posted im no longer in meltdown mode I’ve had about 3 new jobs crop up and 2 possible ones, so Im feeling pretty good- busy but good. Im excited! Lots of writing which is exactly what Im looking for, and a new training opportunity which I am really enjoying so far.

The Artisana giveaway was so huge, Im now going to be doing one food giveaway a month at www.twirlit.com and then 2 a month for www.kidglue.com. Its a parenting site, but the giveaways will be yummy for everyone, so enter even if you are kidless. Im kidless and I write for site, so anyone is welcome.

www.Twirlit.com does weekly giveaways every wednesday- even though they arent all run by me, Im going to be emailing out alerts every week, so if you want to get a reminder every wednesday of the awesome giveaways (food, purses, clothes, giftcards- tons of cool stuff) email me your interest at kelly@everygymsnightmare.com

Get up and go do something active!

Not so Bad Anymore

14 07 2009

Funny how when you are being a whiny brat things come a long that snap you out of it. Which was my plan all along! Or atleast that’s my excuse.

I just had an awesome workout that cleared my head and got me out of the house a bit, but even better, not one, but 2 opportunities just came my way, in the course of literally an hour, brightening my day considerably. Things are looking up.

Also, Ashley reminded me that instead of whining and being crappy I should take it upon myself to make me feel better, which is what Im going to do. i really need to work on remembering that life isn;t just about work, and then recouperating after work. I need to have fun, and do new things and make memories. I have the whole day off, so I am going to do something just for me with my free time. I’m not sure what, but it is NOT going to be writing/networking related (which is usually what I do with free time- like I said, work rules my life) and it also can’t cost money, because, well, that was the cause of my crappy mood in the first place.

Any ideas?

Warning: I’m in a Bad Mood

14 07 2009

It’s only Tuesday? You’re joking, right?

I have a total of about 10 sessions this week, which is how many I should have in a day. Fantastic, right? That’s why I’ve been gone- I’ve been huddled in a corner trying to figure out how i can pay my bills without hooking. Although, its looking more appealing by the day.

I have my writing, which helps, and I’ve been plugging away. Its hard to be moderately interesting creative when you feel you may have a nervous breakdown, but I’m doing my best.

So lets get a little more positive, shall we? My “vacation” has given me a chance to catch up on my writing, blogs, even submit some queries to magazines (which if you want to be a freelance writer, is probably the biggest deterant in the world. Basically, you write a letter to the magazine telling them the article you want to write for them, why they should publish it and why their readers would enjoy it. Then wait 3 months. And you can’t send the same idea to anyone else until you get rejected or you will be blacklisted from the writing community if both magazines actually choose to run with it.)

Yeah, Im mildly freakin out right now. But thats why I have a venue to rant, aka. this blog.

And while Im ranting- what is the blogosphere turning into these days? It blows me away how people can have huge platforms, with huge reader bases writing about something they are obviously passionate about or else they wouldn’t devote 3,986,416 hours a day to blogging about it- yet they refuse to discuss anything of importance or fascilitate any conversation whatsoever. Instead we get to look at myspace portrait after myspace portrait of them feeding themselves. Awesome. Self indulgence is way more interesting than learning from eachother.

Damn, that was supposed to be positive.

Oh yeah- fitness. Well, you can read this stuff. These are the other places I write. See, Im not lazy on this blog, I just have jobs at other blogs:

Gaiam: The Great Yoga Debate
Twirlit: The Foodie Phenomenon
Twirlit:Your Scale is a Liar
Kidglue:Busy Moms can Fit in Fitness
Kidglue:Sneaking in Vegetables
Breathe: Aches, Pains and Strains: The Darkside of Fitness

I’m having a HUGE giveaway on www.twirlit.com hopefully tomorrow. If you want an email alert, send me your email address at kelly@everygymsnightmare.com and I’ll send you an email alert when the giveaway is posted.

Alright, I’m going to the gym to work off this ‘tude.
