The Saddest Thing You’ll See All Week
17 08 2008

Porkchop has to wear a cone cause he has a cut on his ear that he won’t quit messing with.
I was planning on taking him for a run today to make up for it, but it started raining. Poor thing. He’s so upset with me.
I’m off to make oatmeal bars for some clients. I’ll show you the finished product later.

Sorry but I think that rather adorable! Poor wee porkchop, though.
Oh, he’s so traumatized! Poor thing….
You should see it when you force a mostly-outdoor cat to wear one. Probably the most angry thing you’ll see all week.
That’s the same look my little pup gave me when she had to wear a cone. So sad. I had to stay strong or those puppy eyes would have gotten the best of me!
BUt at least his bonnet is a pretty color. My dog got milk-carton color. It did nothing for her complexion.
He does look good in green. Did you tell him that?

Awwww….Puppy!!! Its a doggie fashion statement….he makes it look cool
Aww those eyes!
I’m studying for my ACE certification right now and I’m a little bogged down in the background sciences right now. I have a decent science background from college, but do I need to commit all the muscles, bones, etc. to memory? Any advice on what to focus on would be greatly appreciated.
Awe, poor Porkchop!! I hate having to see dogs in cones.
Poor puppy! Hopefully porkchop will be back to swimming in his pool in no time!
when i tried to put one on my cat he went crazy banging into walls and falling down stairs! We actually had to take it off we were afraid he would hurt himself ;(
Porkchop on the other hand looks adorable
I HATE when my bullmastiff has the eliz.collar.
I try and reason with him to stop messing with WHATEVERHISINJURYDUJOURIS but to no avail….
poor p-chop!
awww, poor pup! Wish there was some way they could understand that they need to have them to get better!
Did you name porkchop off the show Doug? Please say yes, please say yes!!!!
Poor pup. It did make me smile a little bit, in the cute, awww, poor thing kind of way.
And I second Modelbehavior’s comment–please say you did!

He would have been too embarrassed to go for a run anyway.
If I hire a personal trainer, will she make oatmeal bars for me? If I’d known that was part of the deal, I might have done it long ago…
That is very sad. I actually said awww out loud. I’ll share my pet story now. When my cat Cyrus was a kitten he choked on a wire hanger, hid in a closet for two days and then had to have neck surgery and wear a cone.
Poor little guy. My cat has had to wear one of those before and HATED it! But it did make for some cute pictures, at her expense.
Aw, I actually think he rocks the socks out of that helmet lol. Anyway Kelly, I was wondering how many days a week should I be doing cardio? I typically don’t take any days off as I always feel guilty if I skip a day but I’m wondering if it would improve my cardio sessions it I took a day or two off. I’m having problems getting my heart rate to the same elevation I typically do. Also, should I be eating the same amount on off days? Thanks ahead of the time for the input!
When our Westie was little (and he is not much bigger now) he use to fit through the fence… So we got the cone out and put it on him so he would not sneak out unseen. It always went like a ton of bricks. I am such a bad dog parent…
Awe he looks sooooo sad! My parents’ cat had to wear one for a while and she hated it. Anytime she had it on she just sat there looking all sad (much like Porkchop). But the minute we took it off she’d start licking her belly (where she got spayed) which is why she had to wear it in the first place, so she had to keep wearing it. Poor things
Ha, I feel like I’m following angelcubbie around, but I have the same question as her b/c I am in the exact same situation…and I even throw in intervals, too!
its funny because he wont move in it. he just stares up at me like them- he wont walk or anything. i have to force him to lay down or carry him places.
mary- what color is your milk carton? Mines bright blue…way better than that green
runjess- its really important to know all the muscles, what they do, and where they are: not only to pass the test but clients ALWAYS ask “what muscle does this work?” when you ask them to do something. aside form that focus a lot on programming (when to up weights and reps, how to do it, and how to build an actual workout.) the motivation and behavioral change info is REALLY helpful, but there’s not too much of it on the test.
charlotte- he lounges…no swimming. and he drinks half of it. Im pretty sure he pees in it, too, but I haven;t caught him yet.
suzanne- he keeps baning it into the back of my leg, and hitting his head off stuff. instead of being concerned, like a good owner, though, I just laugh.
mizFit- i wish animals just had common sense. babies, too. Thats why I cant handle babies.
MB andFitzalan- i definately did. I was thinking Wishbone, too, but Porkchop is way better. His name was Max when I got him
tfh- only if shes super cool
heather- OMG thats the scariest thing I have ever heard. with all the crazy stuff my dog eats- its only a matter of time
angelcubbie- the recommendation is most days of the week, so 5-6. unless you are an athlete, though, I would make sure you get atleast 2 rest days in or youll burn out and hurt yourself. Generally, you should eat the same amount of calories on your off days, but depending on how hard you workout, you may find you aren;t as hungry on nonworkout days because your body might not be begging you for more calories.
Alice- thats hilarious. I just pictured it an laughed.
Justy2003- im hopping he gets the correlation between rubbing his ear and having to wear it but alas, i dont think hes that smart.
amanda- see the response to angelcubbie
Wow! Everything is cooler in Seattle. In Ohio milk comes in clearish-white jugs. UGH!
LOL, yay!
Everytime we sent a dog home with an E-collar at work I never knew who to feel bad for. The dog because he’s humilated or the owner for having to deal with knocked over coffee tables and leg injuries
poor pup in the cone of shame. but it is a good colour for him.
I know a dog who had to wear Doggles because of an eye infection. The dog seemed a lot smarter with them on, and when they came off I felt he was missing something.
mary- i have to buy cartons. they are smaller so I dont waste milk. I should probably just drink more milk.
ModelBehavior- I need more allowance yoddleaheehoooo. why? because I do! Ahhh EEEE ooooo killer tofu!
kootz- why are they called ecollars?
pk- thats the funniest thing ive ever heartd. doggles. classic.
Thanks so much. I’m slowing down and revisiting the muscle groups. I’m excited!
Oh no! Poor Porkchop! Henry sends get-well wishes!
